.
Unfortunately we do not have enough kids registered for the Fall Metro Minor League and it is postponed. Full refunds will be proceesed.
We beleive there is interest out there and we would like to try another approach to create some Ball Hockey fun this Fall. As we have the facility booked and referees trained we are keen to set up a one day tournament. This is where we need help. We need a number of parent/coaches to recruit a group of buddies together for a day of Ball Hockey fun. ((7 players is ideal)If we have 4 teams in an age group we can create a great basll of ball hockey. Our proposed date is Sept 21. We have goalie gear and this will be co-ed!
If you are interested in putting a team together please send an email to admin@nsmbhl.ca.
New Fall Ball Hockey league–Postponed

The Fall Metro League will begin the first Saturday in September and end on Saturday Nov 9. The majority of games will be played on Saturday. We may play 2-3 additional games at other times depending on facility availability. Registration will be limited and is now open.

Tournament update
While we had lots of interest in a tournament this August we did not have many people keen to organize a team which is the key. We will keep working on a tournament and hope to offer one in the future.
What if the weather is bad?
If the weather is bad we will make a decision one hour before the first game of the session. That decision will be posted on the website home page.. For instance, if we were to cancel the session on a Saturday we will post that decision by 8:00 am as our first game is at 9:00 am. Please check the website for updates.

Mandatory Equipment (2024)
Please be sure your player has the right equipment for each game as they will not be permitted to play without the required gear. To keep costs low you could consider buying used gear (which my kids used) or inexpensive and quality equipment which can be purchased at Canadian Tire or other local sport stores.
- All players must wear a CSA approved helmet approved helmet with full facial protection.
- Standard hockey gloves
- Running shoes
- Knee pads are required. We recommend lightweight ball hockey or soccer style knee pads.
- Hockey stick. They can be either plastic, wooden or composite. Sticks must not be broken in any way and must have at least 1.5 inches of height to ensure they can not penetrate a regular face mask. Floorball sticks are not permitted.
Optional Equipment
- Although not mandatory, it is recommended that players wear elbow pads and an athletic cup.
Goalie Gear
A complete set of ball or ice hockey goalie gear must be worn. In the U8 and U10 divisions ball hockey gear can be worn. In the u12 and u15 ice hockey quality gear is to be worn to ensure adequate protection. It is understood that used, and perhaps old, ice hockey goalie gear may be used.
Goalie gear will include:
- A goalie stick
- Mask or helmet and full cage
- Trapper and blocker
- Goalie pads
- Hockey pants
- Chest and arm protector
- An athletic cup
The league does have a limited supply of goalie gear that we will share if your player would like to try goaltender.
