Kentville Minor Ball Hockey update.

Kentville Minor Ball Hockey has been absolutely outstanding to start the 2026 season. The atmosphere and action at Centennial Arena have been off the charts, with large crowds of parents and grandparents creating an exciting community environment each Tuesday night.

We are pleased to share that two members of our NSMBHL staff team, Allison Prendergast and Ben Connell, have stepped up to take leadership roles for our Kentville Minor Ball Hockey program. Allison, a third year Kinieology student at Acadia, and Ben who just completed first year Engineering at Western, bring an extensive hockey and sport background to our team. They will help lead game-day operations, support players and coaches, and continue building a positive and energetic environment at Centennial Arena throughout the season. We would also like to thank Nick Gerrard from Kentville Recreation  and the staff at Centennial Arena for their tremendous support in helping us get the league off to such a fantastic start.

Opening day featured the highest registration numbers in Nova Scotia Minor Ball Hockey league history, and the level of play has matched that excitement ever since. We are also building an excellent group of volunteer coaches who are doing a tremendous job making both the skills and drills sessions and games a positive, energetic experience for the players.

While all divisions have been exciting to watch, the U15 division has especially stood out early in the season. With strong depth, excellent pace, and some top-level goaltending already on display, Kentville’s U15 teams are shaping up to be serious contenders heading into the NSMBHL Provincial Championships in Halifax at the end of June.
